You can enter the authorization information in your monitor by using the menu

Authorize > Login...

Enter your user id and password in the dialog that pops up. You can change your authorization information any time.

If you have not entered authorization information yet, buttons and menu items of commands needing authentication will be grayed out.

If you leave your monitor for a longer time and you don’t want another person to send commands to a server, you can reset the authorization information by calling

Authorize > Logoff

from the menu.

Please enter your authorization information now. Enter the user id and password you configured for your server into the login dialog. Subsequent chapters deal with commands and will require you to be authenticated.
