Introduction

Install Tungsten Import Connector 2025.1.3.0 to apply the features added and to resolve the issues listed below.

Note: To install Tungsten Import Connector 2025.1.3.0 successfully, an existing full installation of Tungsten Import Connector 2025.1 is required.

Features added in this update

2216980 Implemented HTTP request rules to avoid Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) security vulnerability.
2212000 Added support for the <Note> element during XML import. You can include the note element within the <Page> and <Document> elements. This allows imported batches to include Page and Document notes, which are then visible in Kofax Capture modules such as Validation.

Issues resolved in this update

Message Connector failed to process a corrupt email and did not poll the remaining emails.

The corrupt email is flagged as bad content, and the remaining emails are polled.

When a corrupt email is received:

  • The email is flagged as "bad content" and imported as a '.bin' attachment along with the original email.
  • If Document Conversion is not configured, the error email is imported into TotalAgility.
  • If Document Conversion is enabled, the error email conversion fails because the BIN file cannot be converted to PDF/TIFF.
2222660 The incorrect version number format in the configuration file resulted in an unexpected error message in the log file. Updated the correct version number format in the configuration file.
2222382 The proxy server failed to load the Microsoft login page while configuring OAuth for MS Graph.

While configuring OAuth:

  • If the user attempts to retrieve the access token by entering the proxy details with the Authorization code grant, the WebView control displays a pop-up box prompting the user to enter login credentials.
  • If certificate-based authentication is used to fetch a certificate without the private key, Plug-In displays an error message indicating that the private key is not available.

Security issues resolved in this update

KFXConverter failed to identify the input file's encoding while converting MHTML to HTML. The resulting HTML file was changed to a non-editable format that could not be read or extracted in KTM.

The "UseAutoDetectedEncoding" and "EnableIntermediateHtmlSave" parameters were added to identify the correct encoding and convert.

Do the following to convert an MHTML file to HTML.

  1. Open the KFXConverter_Default.ini file in an editor.

    The KFXConverter_Default.ini file for the first instance of Message Connector is available at C:\Program Files (x86)\Kofax\KIC-ED\MC\bin\KFXConverter.

  2. Copy the "UseAutoDetectedEncoding=true" and "EnableIntermediateHtmlSave=false" parameters from the [HTML2PDF] section.
  3. Paste the parameters under the [HTML2PDF] section in the KFXConverter.ini file available at C:\Program Files (x86)\Kofax\KIC-ED\MC\bin\KFXConverter.

  4. Configure the following parameters under the [HTML2PDF] section:

    • Set the value of the EnableIntermediateHtmlSave parameter to true.
    • Set the value of the FitTableWidthToPage parameter to true.
  5. Save the KFXConverter.ini file.

XLS to PDF conversion failed using KFXConverter with an error message similar to the following:

"Conversion to PDF failed with error code 50102: Unable to convert file to specified format - Shape to image Error!"

Install this update

For best results, install the update during off-peak processing hours.

  1. Verify that the following applications/services are not running.
    • TC Plug-In application and service
    • Message Connector Service
  2. Extract the contents of the .zip file on the computer where Tungsten Import Connector is installed.

  3. Run MC-25.1.3.287.bat and follow the on-screen instructions.

    Note: To update a single instance or multiple instances of Message Connector in silent mode:

    1. Open Command Prompt and navigate to the directory containing the update.
    2. Execute the following commands:
      • Instance 1: msiexec /update MC-25.1.3.287.msp KOFAXPRODUCTVERSION=2025.1.3.287 /qb /l*vx MC-2025.1.3.287-Inst1.log /n {FB969A81-071E-4015-8B62-278359AE1B69}

  4. On the computers where TC Plug-In is installed:

    1. Close Tungsten Capture Administration.
    2. Run KCPlugin-25.1.3.287.bat and follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. Restart any applications or services that were stopped prior to installing the update.
  6. Verify that the TC Plug-In and the Message Connector services are running.

Remove this update

For best results, remove the update during off-peak processing hours.

  1. Verify that the following applications/services are not running.
    • TC Plug-In application and service
    • Message Connector Service
  2. To uninstall Message Connector:
    1. In Control Panel, select Programs and Features > View installed updates.
    2. On the list of updates, in the Name column, select MC fix pack MC-25.1.3.287.
    3. Right-click and select Uninstall.
  3. To uninstall TC Plug-In:

    You cannot uninstall the update for TC Plug-In. You must uninstall Tungsten Import Connector and install it again without the update.

  4. Restart any applications or services that were stopped prior to removing the update.
