Issue resolved in this fix pack

ID Issue Solution
2128918 PDF/A-2b to PDF/A-3b conversion failed sometimes when the third-party component reported post-analysis errors. Enhanced the conversion to ignore post-analysis errors.

Do the following to allow conversion with post-analysis errors:

  1. Open the KFXConverter_Default.ini file in a text editor.

By default, the KFXConverter_Default.ini file for the first instance of Message Connector is available at:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Kofax\KIC-ED\MC\bin\KFXConverter.

  2. Copy the "//131072 = allow post analysis errors" value from the [PDF2PDFA] section.
  3. Paste it after the "//65536 = remove logical structure information" value under the [PDF2PDFA] section in the KFXConverter.ini file available at:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Kofax\KIC-ED\MC\bin\KFXConverter.

  4. Change the value of the "AllowedErrors" parameter to 131200 to allow conversion with post-analysis errors.

  5. Save and close the KFXConverter.ini file.

Features added in previous fix packs

Fix pack 12

2111572: A new parameter, Flag, is added to the DecompressConversions section in the Create_config.xslt file. You can use this parameter to modify the order of the documents extracted from the portfolio PDF. You can set the order to ascending or the order in which the input files were added to the portfolio PDF. For more details, see Additional Information.

2123887: Additional conversion engines are added for EML, HTML, and MHT conversions using Document Conversion. The newly added engines produce output with better formatting. However, the processing time may be more than expected. For more details, see Additional Information.

Fix pack 11

Fix pack 8

1989600: A new flag, RetainPDFFormState, has been added to retain the PDF form state during PDF flattening.

1964603: You can activate page numbers in the combined PDF when concatenating PDF files. The page number is displayed as "current page of total pages", For example, "4 of 20".

Additionally, all the PDF files in the batch are numbered individually. For example, if four PDFs are concatenated, each PDF file in the combined (concatenated) PDF is numbered individually.

For example, if the first PDF file contains 40 pages, the pages are numbered as "25 of 40", and for the second PDF file with 100 pages, the page number starts afresh, such as "20 of 100".

1964601: You can generate bookmarks when you concatenate PDFs. The first page of each PDF in the batch is bookmarked as Document 1, Document 2, and Document 3 in the concatenated PDF.

Additionally, the existing bookmarks if any in each PDF file are retained in the concatenated PDF.
