Issues resolved in this fix pack

ID Issue Solution
2209599

A base64 encoding error occurred when processing a signed email with an XML attachment.

The signed emails are converted into unsigned emails before processing.

2209475

The Cloud file import source test connection failed for Azure Files, Azure Blob, and AWS storage.

The Cloud file import source test connection is now successful and working as expected.

2208896

Sometimes, the email body was not converted while processing an EML file to PDF.

Upgraded a third-party component.

Note: Make sure that the value of the DisableVMLSupport parameter under the [EML2PDF] section is set to True.

2204270

While processing a batch of emails, the email queue folder was deleted when you changed the destination of a new queue.

You can now delete only the emails in the current queue instead of the whole batch.

Previous fix packs

This section includes the features added and issues resolved in the previously released fix packs.

Issues resolved

ID Issue Solution
2201402

XLS to PDF conversion failed using KFXConverter with an error message similar to the following:

"Conversion to PDF failed with error code 50102: Unable to convert file to specified format - Shape to image Error!"

Upgraded a third-party component with this fix pack.

2200301

Sometimes, email import failed using the shared Message Connector pool if the emails contained unsupported content types.

Improved the functionality to support more content types in an email.

2199508

PDF flattening failed when you used the Legacy conversion engine for PDF to PDF/A conversion in the MC Configuration tool.

Improved the feature to support PDF flattening using the legacy conversion engine.

2199485

Message Connector failed to connect to the Kofax Import Connector mailbox due to an insufficient buffer size to store the server's return token. An error message similar to the following is displayed:

"Connection has been disconnected without response from Target 7(email))"

Increased the buffer size to store the return tokens.

2198408

Archiving messages to a local folder failed as Message Connector truncated the extended archive path while connecting to the folder.

Improved the functionality to support the full length of the archive path.

2198391

KFXConverter failed to identify the input file's encoding while converting MHTML to HTML. The resulting HTML file was changed to a non-editable format that could not be read or extracted in KTM.

The "UseAutoDetectedEncoding" and "EnableIntermediateHtmlSave" parameters were added to identify the correct encoding and convert. For more details, see Additional Information.

2198257

The MS Graph import source failed to import new emails using the ROPC grant type.

Fixed an issue with the ROPC grant type to allow import of new emails.

2193751

EML to PDF conversion failed with an error message similar to the following when the value of the "ResizeLargeImages" parameter was set to 1:

"2025-04-14 13:14:03.189 ERROR [Thread=1] [KFXConverter.Converter] Unable to convert file to specified format - Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

Upgraded a third-party component with this fix pack.

Issues resolved

ID Issue Solution
2186494

JPEG to TIFF conversion failed with error code 1.

This issue is already fixed as part of a third-party component upgrade in Kofax Import Connector 2.11.0.6.

2184414

Document conversion failed with the following error when KFXConverter was unable to handle concurrent logging:

"LogMessage failed with exception The process cannot access the file 'C:\ProgramData\Kofax\KFXConverter\KFXConverter.log' because it is being used by another process."

Enhanced KFXLogger to handle concurrent logging.
2174875

Kofax Import Connector repeatedly tried to delete an email from the Microsoft mailbox when the mailbox returned 408, 503, and 504 errors. As a result Message Connector entered an ideal state.

The poll interval is reduced to prevent Message Connector from entering an ideal state and returning to function from an error state.
2162973

The whitespaces in the email body were removed while converting an EML file to PDF.

Enhanced the functionality to retain whitespaces.

To retain the whitespaces, do the following.

  1. Open the KFXConverter_Default.ini file in an editor.

The KFXConverter_Default.ini file for the first instance of Message Connector is available at C:\Program Files (x86)\Kofax\KIC-ED\MC\bin\KFXConverter.

  2. Copy the "EMLConversionEngine" parameter from the [EML2PDF] section.
  3. Paste the parameter under the [EML2PDF] section in the KFXConverter.ini file available at C:\Program Files (x86)\Kofax\KIC-ED\MC\bin\KFXConverter.
  4. Make sure the value is set to 2.

  5. Save and close the KFXConverter.ini file.

2170764

Kofax Import Connector failed to process Portfolio PDFs that contained .rdy file.

Upgraded a third-party component with this fix pack.

590748

Message Connector failed to process a corrupt email and did not poll the remaining emails.

The corrupt email is flagged as bad content, and the remaining emails are polled.

When a corrupt email is received:

  • The email is flagged as "bad content" and imported as a '.bin' attachment along with the original email.
  • If Document Conversion is not configured, the error email is imported into TotalAgility.
  • If Document Conversion is enabled, the error email conversion fails because the BIN file cannot be converted to PDF/TIFF.

Feature added

ID Description
2158795 If an error occurs during the PDF to TIFF or image to TIFF conversion, the error information is displayed in the Message Connector Monitor.

Field Request closed in this fix pack

2148977: Support for Kofax Import Connector to import folders from Azure NetApps.

Approach

  • If the Import Connector is installed on-premises and trying to import from the Azure NetApps, the Azure VPN client needs to be installed on the machine where Import Connector is installed and then connect to the Azure NetApps.
  • If the Import Connector is installed on an Azure VM, make sure that the VM is in the same region as the Azure NetApps volume. Connect to the NetApp volume from the Azure VM using the Azure Active Directory Domain service.

Limitations due to SMB protocol

  • The Windows SMB client does not support multiple credentials to the same server. It means that an Azure Storage Account can’t be used for multiple tenants.
  • The Windows SMB client stores the session/credentials in the user session. This is a security issue when SMB is used to access Azure NetApps storage because access to the storage account is possible without user/password checks.

Recommendation

Due to the limitations of the SMB protocol, it is recommended to use Kofax Import Connector Azure File Share via RESTful service for folder import.
