WinZip is a popular program by WinZip Computing, Inc., that allows you to compress files into one smaller file for storage and file sharing with others. You simply open the .zip file when you want to extract and decompress the files.
Note that the WinZip program link requires you to have a registered copy of WinZip.
In PaperPort, you can select one or more items on the PaperPort desktop and send them as a group to the WinZip program icon on the Send To bar. This automatically compresses the files into one file with the .zip file name extension.
To tune options for your WinZip program, on the Send To bar, right-click the WinZip icon and then click Send To Options. In the dialog box, you can tune these default options:
File
name— Enter a name if you
want to assign a name to the .zip file.
For example, assume you enter Special_Project
in the File
name box. When you drag one
or more items on the PaperPort desktop to the WinZip icon, the .zip
file will be named Special_Project.zip. File
name setting does not include
a folder path, the file is created on the PaperPort desktop in the
current folder. Leave the File
namebox blank to use the
name of the first item that you select on the PaperPort desktop.
Open archive after compressing files— Select this checkbox to automatically start WinZip and open your newly created file in the WinZip program.
