Default PDF Security

This feature is available only in PaperPort Professional.

In the Default PDF Security dialog box, you can set the default security settings to be applied to all PDF files created inside PaperPort in the future.

Click the Change default button in the Item ribbon. These settings do not apply to PDF files brought into PaperPort or when PDF files are duplicated.
 

Click Ask for password before opening the document if you want to restrict opening a PDF file, then enter the password in the text box. The password can contain up to 255 characters.

Click Use a permissions password to restrict printing and editing of the document and specify other security settings, then enter another password in the text box.

The following security settings can only be selected if the permissions password checkbox is already selected.

Enable copying text, images and other content lets the user copy and save as the PDF file contents.

Enable text access for screen reader devices lets the visually impaired read PDF files with screen readers. You can copy, view and index if the document contains text. See OCR if it is an image-only PDF document. If yes, option Printing allowed must be Low resolution or High resolution. Extracting file contents is not allowed.

The Use these settings as default option is grayed in this dialog box. It can be set in the PDF Security dialog box

Click the Delete Password List button to remove passwords from the password list, so PaperPort will no longer remember them.
