PaperPort Options: Advanced tab

Click the Desktop Options button on the Desktop ribbon.

Use the Advanced tab to set options for newly-created PDF files when you print a file to the PaperPort desktop as a PDF file, or capture a web page as a PDF file.

Image Quality

The level of file compression determines image quality. Higher compression levels result in a loss of image quality, while lower compression levels increase image quality but also increase file size. Large files occupy disk space and can take a long time to send and display over the Internet.

Best Quality (larger file) — Produces files in a lossless format that results in best possible quality, but with a larger size.

This setting is useful whenever you require a high quality image.

Better Quality (smaller file) — Produces files with a high level of quality while reducing the file size.
Good Quality (smallest file) — Produces files with a higher compression level, while retaining quality good enough for viewing on a computer screen.

Use MRC Technology — In PaperPort Professional, produces color PDF Images or PDF Searchable Images with a high compression technology called MRC.

For PDF Rendering Resolution, choose a pre-defined PDF resolution value in the selection box: either choose Low (150 dpi), Medium (300 dpi) or High (400 dpi) resolution, or specify a Custom resolution and enter a dpi value for it.

OLE

Using the OLE feature, you can insert a PaperPort Image item in another program file, such as a Word document. You can then double-click on the inserted item, called an embedded link, to launch PaperPort and edit the item in PaperPort.

Full-size images — inserts PaperPort Image items in other files as full-size images.
Thumbnails — inserts PaperPort Image items in other files as thumbnail images.
