Click on the PaperPort button, choose 
Options,
and then click the Item
tab.
Under PaperPort Image Printer file type, select the output format you want.
Click OK.
You can specify PDF Image or PDF Searchable when you print to PaperPort with the PaperPort Image Printer print driver. The default is PDF Image.

Tip
In PaperPort Professional, you have an additional print driver: Power PDF for converting text-based documents, such as Word files, to the PDF Formatted Text & Graphics (PDF Normal) format.
