About Profiles

Kofax Power PDF uses two independent sets of profiles to organize PDF output settings:

• Printing profiles: The Power PDF printer driver and PDF export in integrated applications use the same profiles. See PDF Settings for details.

• PDF Create Assitant profiles: Create Assistant profiles are not the same as the profiles in the Power PDF printer driver and PDF export settings. See  PDF Create Profiles for details.

The above profiles share on most of the setting names, but have minor differences. Creating and editing a PDF Create Assistant profile does not affect print profiles and vice versa.

Create Assistant provides different sets of PDF creation parameters identified by unique names. These sets are called profiles. Each profile defines settings for

• compatibility

• watermark

• security

• font embed

• compression

• tagged PDF

• MRC compression

• searchable PDF

The profiles are also accessible from Windows Explorer and Windows Desktop. Before creating PDF files using Create Assistant, take care to select an appropriate profile.

The program is delivered with predefined profiles, that you can modify. You can also create your own profiles, or delete them using the PDF Create Profiles panel.
