Header & Footer Ribbon
This ribbon shows up in Advanced Edit mode, as you add or edit a header or a footer. To add a header or a footer, go to Insert > Headers and Footers, then click Header or click Footer and then choose Edit Header/Edit Footer.
Important! Advanced Edit and Review modes do not share the header and footer handling but use different features.
Advanced Edit mode cannot edit the headers and footers created with the Edit > Insert > Headers and Footers command in Review Mode.
Also, in Review Mode, you cannot use the Edit > Insert > Headers and Footers commands on headers and footers created in Advanced Edit mode.
If you select the Finalize option when leaving Advanced Edit mode, Power PDF removes the metadata related to advanced editing and converts the document to a standard PDF format. In this case, you can edit all header and footer text with the Edit > Modify > Edit text command.
Navigation Group
Lets you navigate through sections and switch between headers or footers:
- Go to Header Click to switch to header.
- Go to Footer Click to switch to footer.
- Previous Section Click to move to the section preceding the current one.
- Next Section Click to move to the section succeeding the current one.
- Link to Previous Click to copy the header or footer of the previous section.
Options Group
Manage options for headers and footers:
Different First Page Click to have the first page of the section different header/footer setting than the rest of the pages.
- Different Odd & Even Pages Click to use different headers/footers on facing pages on the left and the right.
Position Group
Manage header/footer positions:
Header from Top Specify the distance between the header and the top of the page.
- Footer from Bottom Specify the distance between the footer and the bottom of the page.
Close Group
This group has a single Close Headers and Footers button, click to return to the calling ribbon.
