How to create a capture workflow that keeps documents within your own infrastructure

This topic describes how to keep captured documents within your organization's infrastructure, ensuring they are not processed in the Printix Cloud and remain under your control for compliance and data protection.

  1. In your cloud storage settings in Printix Administrator , configure cloud storage used by your organization with the Printer capture and Mobile capture document sources so that documents are not sent through the Printix Cloud, even as a fallback option.
  2. Install and configure an on-premises connector in your network that uses the Printix Capture Connector API to process and deliver the captured images and metadata.
  3. Create a capture workflow for the connector in How to create a workflow for a connector with the following settings:
    • In the Settings section, ensure that Bypass output document generation is selected.

    • In the Destination section, when you select a destination profile, select the on-premises connector you configured in step 2.

If you configured the workflow as instructed, the capture process will consist of the following steps:

  1. A document scanned on a printer or captured on a phone or tablet is uploaded to your organization's cloud storage.

  2. Printix notifies the on-premises connector that the document is available in your organization's cloud storage for further processing and delivery. The Printix Cloud does not use OCR or modify the document. The on-premises connector is the same connector you configured in the destination profile. Printix notifies the connector through a Printix Client running on a computer in the connector's network.

  3. The on-premises connector retrieves the document from your organization's cloud storage, processes it, and delivers it to the defined destination.
