How to install clientless Printix Go on an HP printer
You can use Printix Go HP to release documents from the cloud without a computer running Printix Client.
To achieve clientless mode, you must add HP printers using manual registration or with Printix Configurator, because the Discover printers function cannot be used. Once added, proceed to install Printix Go HP using the supplied command line tool Printix Go HP Installer for Windows.
Requirements
-
The printer must run FutureSmart 5 firmware or newer.
-
We highly recommend to use the latest firmware version.
-
Users must submit their documents to a Print Anywhere print queue. A clientless printer cannot release documents from the print queue of a specific printer, including documents that use Print Later.
-
In your cloud storage settings, hover over the numbers in the Document sources column, and ensure that you have cloud storages that list Print Anywhere.
-
Printer's date and time must match the local time.
-
Printer administrator password must be set and cannot be blank.
-
A Windows computer that can connect to both the printer and the Printix Cloud through HTTPS.
Limitations
-
Mac and Linux computers are not supported.
-
The "Install", "Update", "Uninstall", and "Verify sign in profile" buttons in Printix Administrator do not work without the Printix Client.
-
Updating the Go configuration is not supported.
-
Direct printing, Print Later, and reprinting are not supported. Users must submit their documents to a Print Anywhere print queue.
-
Capture is not supported.
-
On the printer, users must select Sign In before signing in with card.
-
Users cannot sign out with card from the printer.
Next steps
-
Verify that your printer is supported.
-
Prepare Printix Go HP files for installation.
This involves downloading and extracting files and obtaining relevant data.
-
Install Printix Go on a single printer or on multiple printers.

On HP, if you don't lock any functions and the HP printer's authentication agent is configured (see How to control access to HP printer functions), the printer's own access control settings override the Go configuration's settings. To avoid this, we recommend locking at least one function, such as Everything else.

Troubleshooting
After installing multiple printers, some printers are not installed
After a mass deployment, if some of the printers could not be installed, the CSV file is updated with information about what went wrong for each printer.
Resolution: Open the CSV file and look for FAILURE in the status column. Next to each FAILURE, you will find the reason why the installation failed. Fix each problem, then restart the installation.
