Extraction (or interpretation) is the overall process of finding the defined fields on a document, deciding what those fields contain, and recording the field values in the database. This is normally done automatically during the Interpretation activity in XBOUND.
Interpretation also refers to the technical process of recognizing characters—for example differentiating between the letter O and the number 0, or between the letter I and the number 1.
