Maintenance tasks: Overview

By performing routine maintenance tasks you can keep your system running smoothly by removing unnecessary objects and out of date statistics and automatically deploying new solution versions. Maintenance tasks apply to the system as a whole (or to runtime systems if multiple runtime systems are enabled).

Maintenance tasks are set up on the Configuration tab of the Administration module and are run on the Maintenance tab.

Available maintenance tasks

For the system as a whole (or individual runtime systems*)

Check and delete unnecessary objects

Checks the consistency of objects (for example, documents, compound documents, and batches), and/or deletes outdated solutions and unnecessary document specifications.

Delete operation statistics

Deletes old operation statistics (for example, task statistics) and audit trail information.

*If multiple runtime systems are used, these maintenance tasks are set up on the runtime system level. If not, they are set up on under System specifications and apply to the system as a whole.
