Backing up Invoice configuration data

To protect your installation from damage caused by power failure, disk crashes, software errors, incorrect user changes, and so on, it is important to set up routines for backing up Invoice configuration data (described below), as well as the configuration database (described in Backing up the configuration database).

Use this procedure:

  1. Process all documents—including all invoices—out of the system.

  2. Close all DOCUMENTS modules.

  3. Back up the DOCUMENTS_PRODUCTION database using SQL Server Management Studio. You can find instructions in Installing and Configuring Microsoft SQL Server For Use With DOCUMENTS 7.

Alternatively, use a backup program that can communicate with Microsoft SQL Server. There are many such backup systems on the market.

  4. Back up Invoice configuration files, if any.

  5. Back up Initialization files, as well.
