Sort activity – Automatic

Sort is an automatic activity that consists of:

  • Automatic document separation – the incoming batch is automatically separated into documents.

  • Automatic document classification – each document is classified as a certain type and matched to a specification.

  • Automatic document grouping – some of the documents are collected together into logical groups, called compound documents.

Any document that cannot be automatically processed by the system in Sort needs to go through one or more of the manual operations in Inspect.

An administrator can require confirmation of automatic sorting, in which case an operator must confirm sorting.
