Customizing the layout in the Production module

The layout of the different windows displayed by the Production module can be modified to suit the operator or the production task. By default, Windows are docked in a fixed position depending on the activity being performed.

To customize the view layout while performing an activity such as Inspect or Verify: using dock, float, hide or auto-hide:

  1. While performing an activity (such as Inpect or Verify, for example), right click the title bar of any window to see the current layout properties of that window. Dockable is selected by default.

  2. Click the title bar of a view or window and drag it to the desired location to move it to a new position. The window is now floating as well as dockable, and the grey border will temporarily lock if the it is dragged into a dockable position.

  3. To Hide or Auto-hide a view, right click the title bar and choose the appropriate option.

  4. To turn off Auto-hide, Floating or Dockable, right click the title bar and deselect the specific window property.

  5. To bring back a window after selecting Hide, click View on the main task bar and select the window that was hidden.

  6. To return all windows to their default position and properties, click Window on the task bar and select Reset view layout.

  7. When you close the Production module, your layout preferences are saved.

Note:  In some cases when users start an activity the first time, and no view layout has previously been saved in the database for that user, the thumbnail view or other view may not display as expected. If this happens, use Reset view layout.
