A separate database that contains layout information about different types of documents. When the Knowledge Store Service is running, documents entering the system are matched against existing layouts.
If a matching layout is found, Knowledge Store is used to find and extract fields on the documents. Any corrections made while operators verify the fields result in adjustments in Knowledge Store.
If no matching layout is found, verifying fields results in saving new layout information in the Knowledge Store. Fields are much more likely to be found and extracted automatically the next time that type of document is processed.
Running Knowledge Store results in better extraction of machine-printed character fields, date fields, amount fields, and table fields. It is recommended in customer order solutions, and in solutions that process invoices without using the Invoice modules.
