As documents move through the system, events are fired at predefined occasions. An event is a condition, or the result of an activity at a specific point in a program.
An event map displays the connection between an event in the program and an external DLL. You can use event maps to execute code in an external DLL when a particular event takes place, as part of customizing DOCUMENTS using the API.
