PDF417 is one of the barcodes supported in DOCUMENTS.
The number of characters that a string coded in PDF417 can contain depends on the mode used which is determined by the string content (text, numeric, image, etc.).
At present, extraction of PDF417 barcodes has these limitations:
The code must not be truncated.
There is a mode in the industry specification of the barcode that handles long rows of numbers. However, this mode is not handled by the Invoice modules.
Byte mode and numeric compact mode may not be represented correctly in the output data. For example, special characters such as ä, ö, and å are not represented correctly in the output data since they are part of byte mode.
Scan with high resolution (DPI).
See to it that the barcode is placed on an empty background with plenty of space around it.
The larger the bars in the barcode, the easier it is for the system to extract it.
