Defining a data field

A data field is defined in much the same way as other fields.

The exception is if you are using it to define an address using ReadSoft’s ADDRESSES program. In that case, the Address validation controls are activated on the Standard tab of the Field dialog. See ADDRESSES Help for instructions on how to define an address.

1. Specify a field area just as you would that of most other field types. You can draw it anywhere on the form, but it cannot overlap any other fields. It is not interpreted, and no image is created.

2. Press F5 to open the Field dialog.

3. On the Standard tab, select Data as the field type.

4. Type a field name.

5. Then specify the field format.

6. Specify any field validation that apply.

7. Click OK.
