You can specify a trigram table in character field definitions. When character fields contain a lot of alphabetic data, using a trigram table usually improves interpretation.
However, the data in the filled-in fields must match the data that was used to create the trigram table. For example, if a table was based on Swedish names, then it is appropriate to apply it to fields that contain typical Swedish names. If you apply the same table to fields with English names, you may get poor results.
When you are defining a character field, click Options in the Field dialog.
Choose a table in the Trigram table list box.
