Scanner settings: Photo mode

Most scanners allow you to select Photo mode. It can be selected in the Scanner settings dialog.

If photo mode is not activated, the scanner adjusts to the background color of the first lines scanned on a page. If the background color at the top of the page differs from the rest of the form, the resulting image can be poor.

In Photo mode, this problem is avoided because the scanner constantly readjusts itself during scanning. The disadvantage of this mode is that lines and characters can become rough or uneven, which affects the interpretation rate negatively.

Note

Only form definitions with the same Photo mode can be run in the same job description.
