Verifying set sums

In your set definition, you can specify that the sum of different fields on different forms within a set must equal the value of a specific field. How?

If Interpret found that the sum does not fall within the range you defined, and if Validation error is selected as a status to be verified in the Verify job (as it is by default), Verify displays all the included fields on the screen and gives you the opportunity to change incorrect values.

Every field included in the validation is displayed with its sequence number and a value. The field containing the total is shown in the upper left part of the display, highlighted in yellow. The fields that are supposed to add up to the value of the sum field are shown in two columns below it. If there are more fields than can be shown on the screen, you can scroll using the scroll bar or the keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+arrows) to view or edit the other fields.

To correct the set sum

A dialog is positioned by the first field. Change the field value, if necessary, and click OK to update the field.

When you click OK or Cancel, the dialog moves to the next field. You can also position the dialog on any field by double-clicking it.

You can also remove fields during this process. If you remove the sum field (shown in yellow), you end up looking at the form from which you deleted the field or, if there is nothing else to verify there, the next form.

To ignore the error in the set sum

Select Field ð Override to complete. A warning message appears. Click OK.
