Unlocking the database

While a user is working with INVOICES, the objects the user is working with are locked in the database. This prevents other users from changing the object.

Also, if any of the INVOICES modules causes a program error, or if there is a power failure while INVOICES is in use, some of the objects in the database can become locked. Objects that were locked while a user is using an INVOICES module are unlocked the next time the user starts the module. It is normally not necessary for you to unlock objects manually.

If it is necessary to manually unlock objects, use this procedure:

  1. Using Manager, select Administration > Unlock database.

  2. Select the type of object you want to unlock from the Objects box. You can unlock any of these objects:

  3. Settings in the Unlock box depend on which object you selected in the previous step. If enabled, you can:

  4. Click Unlock.

Note: Unlocking the database can take some time if the database is large.
