Before you start processing invoices, you describe the invoices – what type of information they contain and how much of this information you want to process – to the program. You do this by using Manager to create invoice profiles. This is different than XML invoice profiles.
An invoice profile is a general description of the information that you want to capture from a particular group of invoices. One invoice profile can be used for invoices from many different suppliers.
An invoice profile includes four types of information:
An invoice profile tells INVOICES how to scan the invoices. It also tells INVOICES which information to look for on unknown invoices.
An invoice profile is not an image of an invoice, neither is it the position of the identifiers or fields on the invoice. This specific sort of information is saved in invoice definitions.
