While a user is working with Entrance, the objects the user is working with are locked in the database. This prevents other users from changing the object.
Also, if any of the Entrance modules causes a program error, or if there is a power failure while Entrance is in use, some of the objects in the database can become locked. Objects that were locked while a user is using an Entrance module are unlocked the next time the user starts the module. It is normally not necessary for you to unlock objects manually.
If it is necessary to manually unlock objects, use this procedure:
Using Manager, select > Unlock database.
Select the type of object you want to unlock from the Objects box. You can unlock any of these objects:
Document profiles
Document definitions
Documents
Batches
Scanner descriptions
Transaction definitions
User definitions
Job descriptions
Settings in the Unlock box depend on which object you selected in the previous step. If enabled, you can:
Select All to unlock all of the selected objects in the database.
To unlock a single document profile and objects connected to it, select Single document profile and select the document profile you want to unlock from the drop-down list.
To unlock all of the selected objects connected to a single document profile, select Connected to single document profile and select the document profile you want from the drop-down list.
Click Unlock.
Note: Unlocking the database can take some time if the database is large.
