Configuration Parameters
Application Management
PROCESSIT application behavior can be altered via configuration parameters. D4_PARAMETERS. Parameter values are modified in the Configuration Manager under the Parameter Management option. The parameters are categorized in logical groups according to their use in the application workflows.
Full list of configuration parameters.
Organizations for parameters are defined in each parameter setting entry.
Parameter Settings Table
The main table list in the Parameter Management window shows the parameters settings currently setup for the system. A single parameter can have multiple entries in the table based on Level and Level Value - for instance appearing once for site and then once for each organization.
Parameter Details Panel
The parameter details panel below the parameter settings table shows the settings for the currently selected parameter. The following attributes must be set for the parameter setting entry:
- Parameter - The parameter title and name.
- Level - The level that this parameter setting applies to.
- Level Value - The value for the level that this parameter applies to, for instance a user or an organization id.
- Parameter Value - The value for the parameter
- Start and end date - Defines the active span for this parameter setting. If no end date is supplied, the span does not end.
Each parameter also belongs to a category for sorting purposes.
Understanding Level and Level values
The Level for a parameter setting is the scope that the parameter setting affects. Some parameters are limited to certain levels, most commonly only allowed on site level. See the Parameter list for details on level limitations.
A parameter setting with a level that appears lower on the following list overrides any parameter setting with a level higher on the list, but only for the level value defined for the setting with the lower level.
- Site
- Operating Unit (Organization)
- Responsibility
- User
- Supplier
- Supplier Site
For instance, if there are three parameter setting entries for the parameter GL code combinations autosuggest similar to this:
Level | Level value | Parameter value |
---|---|---|
Site | N/A | Y |
Operating Unit | 204 | N |
User | CBAKER | Y |
Then automatic suggestions are enabled for the entire PROCESSIT site, except for the organization with id 204, where it is disabled, but the user CBAKER has autosuggesting enabled, even when working within organization 204.
Parameter Setting Timespans
A parameter setting is active in the timespan between the start date and the end date supplied for the parameter settings. If no end date is supplied, the parameter setting is never disactivated.
This also means that completely similar parameter settings with only span differences can appear in the Parameter Settings table.
Filtering the Parameter Settings Table
You can filter the Parameter Settings table. Either use the column filter, or select a Category and/or define text in the Parameter Name in the Search box and click Search. This filters the Parameter Settings Table according to your input.
The Category selected in the Category drop-down also filters the parameters available in the Add Parameter list and in the Parameter drop-down for the parameter details panel. See more about categories below.
You can sort the Parameter Settings table according to Level or Level value. You can also export and detach the table.
Adding New Parameter Settings
The list in the Add Parameter box shows all available configuration parameters.
To add one or more new parameter settings:
- Select the parameter(s) you wish to add in the Add Paramter list
- Select a level
- Define a level value
- Click Add
- Set the Parameter value and timespan for each of the added parameters.
Note that you might have to change the level settings for some of the added parameter settins, if you have added parameters with an illegallevel.
Customize SQL for parameter values
Some parameters can be further extended in their usage with customized SQL commands.
Save your configuration
Click Save to save changes to your configuration parameter settings. Whenever you save the settings, you commit to the database and overwrite any existing setup.
Saving configuration overwrites previous settings. You cannot undo this in any other way than saving a new configuration.
Parameter values are not changed until you save your configuration.
Parameter Database Table
The application is controlled by the settings in the database table D4_PARAMETERS. Whenever you save parameter changes, this table is updated. The Parameter Settings Table in the Parameter Managment window reflects the settings in this database table.
Parameter Categories
The parameter categories correspond to functional areas for the workflow.
Accounting
Specifies the actions, options and features used during invoice accounting procedures and tasks.
Additional Approval
Configure the parameters for the setup applied in Additional Approval.
Administrative Scheduled Downtime
Schedule system donwtime and determine if users will be able to handle tasks during this time, or if it should not be allowed to login to the system during downtime.
Application Access Control
Approval
Control and configure the approver edits and options available during invoice approval tasks.
Bank Account Check
Setup and configure Invoice Bank Account Checks.
Business Setup
General configuration parameters covering the main functional aspects of workflow procedures, and determining the overall behavior of the invoice approval workflow.
Check Holds
Parameters controlling whether or not to check for invoice holds.
ERP Import
These parameters specify the Oracle responsibility and user used to run the invoice import to Accounts Payable. The value chosen for import source is applied to all imported invoices. Optionally, invoices can be imported with a PROCESSIT hold which has a customizable name. The responsibility and user chosen for invoice import also runs the ERP invoice validation.
Invoice Batch Controls
These configuration parameters are used to control Invoice batch control.
Invoice Pre Registration
Setup and control how PROCESSIT handles invoice preregistration.
Mail Settings
Mail settings determine the mail protocol, server, port and user. If you are using COLLECTOR to receive documents via mail, which is used in collaboration with the PROCESSIT Supplier Workbench, you must also specify an email address for the COLLECTOR.
Matching
Configuration parameters determining how the manual matching proces can be handled and what users are allowed to do during manual matching.
Mobile
These configuration parameters are used to define settings related PROCESSIT Mobile, which is a separate Add-on Module.
PO Requirements
Configure the parameters for the setup defined in purchase order requirements.
Prepayments
Setup and configure Prepayment Handling.
ReadSoft Online
Controls the integration with ReadSoft Online and determines which users should be transferred to the online system.
Tax engine
These configuration parameters are used to control Tax handling
Technical Setup
Configuration parameters pertaining to application technical setup.
URL
Specify the URLs required for servers and databases.
User Maintenance

Required Parameters and Notifications
You can check for missing required parameter that will impact the system’s operations. In addition, missing required parameters used during workflow processing are also detected and flagged for resolution. In this scenario, a task notification listing the missing required parameter is sent to a superuser, who can enter the correct parameter setting, and then continue the invoice workflow process.
