Temp Disk Space
2,5 * installation requirements

Java Development Kie (JDK)

The Products installation program requires a Java run time environment (JRE) to run. A JRE is bundled in the Windows installation program and in some UNIX installation programs (those with filenames ending in .bin). For other UNIX platforms, the installation program does not install a JDK. Filenames for these installation programs end in .jar. To run the .jar installation programs, you must have the appropriate version of the JDK installed on your system, and include the bin directory of the JDK at the beginning of the PATH variable definition. You must use a JDK because the installation process assigns values to JAVA_HOME and related variables to point to the JDK directory. You can download a JDK from Oracle.

Temporary Disk Space

The installation program uses a temporary directory into which it extracts the files necessary to install the software on the target system. During the installation process, your temporary directory must contain sufficient space to accommodate the compressed Java Run-time Environment (JRE) bundled with the installation program and an uncompressed copy of the JRE that is expanded into the temporary directory. The extracted files are deleted from the temporary directory at the end of the installation process. The files in the temporary directory require approximately 2.5 times the space that is ultimately required for the installation. If you do not have enough temporary space to run the installation program, you are prompted to specify an alternate directory or exit the installation program. By default, the installation program uses the following temporary directories: Windows platforms: directory referenced by the TMP system variable, UNIX platforms: system-dependent temporary directory

Oracle SOA Suite

For maximum scalability, it's best to have a separate server deployment for the Oracle SOA Server and another for the WebLogic Server. However, a PROCESSIT implementation can be performed by having the SOA Suite Server and the WebLogic Server on the same server. The server(s) can be physically or virtually divided.

Version
Oracle BPEL Process Manager (a component of Oracle SOA Suite) 10.1.3.5 patched to the latest MLR2 level
Processor
Dual-core Intel® Pentium® 1.5-GHz+
Hard Disk
50 GB or more
Memory
16 GB RAM or more

Oracle E-Business Suite R12 or 11i

Version
OEBS R12 (12.0.6; 12.1.1; 12.1.2; 12.1.3; 12.2; 12.2.2; 12.2.3) or OEBS 11i (11.5.9; 11.5.10)
Oracle Modules
Accounts Payable, Oracle General Ledger, Oracle Purchasing (optional), Oracle Project Accounting (optional), Oracle Human Resources (optional)
Employee creation
Employees can be created either via Oracle Purchasing or via Oracle Human Resources, and assigned to Oracle FND_USER

Oracle Database

Depending on the installation consultant's approach to the install, the disk space usage/requirements can fluctuate between 50 GB or up to 250 GB. If the installer stages everything upfront (i.e. unpacks and get all files in place before the installation), then the disk space requirements at 250 GB will ensure that it can accommodate this approach. On the other hand, if the installer executes each install and subsequently cleans up the staging files, then the hard disk requirements can be as low as 50 GB.

All data used to process scanned invoices is stored in the same Oracle database as Oracle SOA Suite. Images are stored as BLOBs in Tiff file format. Invoice header and line information is inserted into the database as XML into a CLOB.

Version
Oracle 10g Enterprise Edition with latest patches or Enterprise Edition 11g
Hard Disk
250+ GB for initial PROCESSIT installation
Processor
Dual-core Intel® Pentium® 2.5 GHz+
Memory
4GB
Accumulated Hard Disk Space
1st year: 200GB, 2nd year: 220GB, 3rd year: 240GB (etc.)

Accumulation is based on the following assumptions: A single page invoice is approx 100 kb. 100 invoices a day with 10 concurrent users. Assuming BPEL workflow data is purged on a regular basis, and that the image archive delivered in the standard solution is used.

Operating System requirements

Operating System must be 64-bit

Oracle Enterprise Linux 5
Update level 3+
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4
Update level 7+
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.X

Virtualization Resources

PROCESSIT and the bundled Oracle components can be deployed in a virtualized environment if desired. Our deployments for development environments, test environments, and demonstration environments are all virtualized.

Installation Guidelines by Invoice Volume

Virtual Appliance Installation is not recommended for invoice volumes above 200,000 invoices/year.

Less than 100,000 Invoices/Year

Virtual Appliance Installation

  • 16 GB RAM
  • 400GB HD
  • 2 CPU Server
  • All Software (64-bit Linux, Oracle Enterprise Edition Database, WebLogic, SOA Suite) installed on a single virtual machine.

Server Installation

  • 64-bit Linux
  • 16GB RAM
  • 400GB HD
  • Dual-core Intel® Pentium® 2.5 GHz+
  • All Software (Oracle Enterprise Edition Database, WebLogic, SOA Suite) installed on a single physical or single virtual machine.

Between 100,000 and 200,000 Invoices/Year

Virtual Appliance Installation

  • 16GB RAM
  • 500GB HD
  • 4 CPU Server
  • All Software (Linux 64-bit, Oracle Enterprise Edition Database, WebLogic, Oracle SOA Suite) installed on a single virtual machine

Two (2) Servers Installation - physical or virtual

  • 64-bit Linux
  • 16GB RAM each
  • 400GB HD each
  • Quad-core Intel® Pentium® 2.5 GHz+
  • Machine 1 - Oracle Enterprise Edition Database and Oracle SOA Suite

Clustered Installation

  • All components should be installed with clustering:
    • Oracle RAC Database Farm

    • Oracle SOA Suite installed in a clustered configuration
  • Each machine should be configured similar to the 200K-400K invoice volume installation guidelines.
  • Number of nodes to be determined by total invoice volume and level of resilience desired.
