Translation Workbench
General translation guidelines
All texts used in the PROCESSIT interface can be translated or edited using the Translation Workbench interface. Access to the Translation Workbench is limited to administrative users. You gain access to the Translation Workbench via the Translation Workbench button in the Console Worklist.
Please be aware that installing a new translation or edited texts overwrites the existing values for the specific language. Also, if you are customizing texts, please make sure to export a backup prior to any solution updates. This way, you can easily re-import your changes after the upgrade.
Exporting translation file
You can export a .xlf file containing all user interface text. The file can be edited in a text editor (external link) or an application for translation via .xlf files, for instance Virtaal (External Link).
To export a translation file for a specific language:
- Click Export in the Translation Workbench interface.
- Select the target language for the translation file in the Language menu. The base language is defaulted to English.
- Click Export Language.
- Save the generated .xlf file in the desired location. The file is named according to base language and target language.
