Exporting and importing process or document type templates

If you use templates while configuring processes, it can be useful to export the templates and then import them as new templates.

This functionality is also useful in backing up templates or duplicating them in another XBOUND system.

Exported templates are saved as XML files. The data includes the name of the group that a template was in.

To export two or more templates

  1. Using the XBOUND Management Center, open a console containing the Process Designer.

  2. In the right pane, click the Templates tab.

  3. Click Export templates (). The Export templates dialog is displayed.

  4. Select the templates to export.

    Tip: Use the Select all or Deselect all button: 

  5. Click OK.

  6. Specify a file name when prompted and click Save.

To export one template

  1. Using the XBOUND Management Center, open a console containing the Process Designer.

  2. In the right pane, click the Templates tab.

  3. Right-click a template and select Export template.

  4. Specify a file name when prompted and click Save.

To import templates

  1. Using the XBOUND Management Center, open a console containing the Process Designer.

  2. In the right pane, click the Templates tab.

  3. Click Import templates ().

  4. Select an XML file containing exported templates and click Open. The Import Templates dialog is displayed.

  5. Select the templates to import.

    Tip: Use the Select all or Deselect all button: 

  6. Click OK.

Tip: You can also export and import a client, entire processes, or process step settings, as well as agent settings.
