backlog

A reporting category is a collection of process steps that either:

• represents an endpoint in the process or

• does not represent an endpoint. Process steps that do not represent an endpoint represent the so-called backlog.  

Thus, the backlog consists of documents (tasks) that have not yet reached their production endpoint (IsEnd <> 1).

Note: The endpoint is not necessarily the last step in the process. Some process steps (such as archiving) are not relevant to the actual processing. This separation is achieved using the Production End Point setting in XBOUND.
