Complex Scripts

For complex scripts, the font must be embedded in the PDF document. Currently, complex scripts are supported in text fields, signature fields, list boxes, and combo boxes. Complex scripts are also supported by SIGNDOC_Document_addText() and SIGNDOC_Document_addWatermark() but not by SIGNDOC_Document_addTextRect() and for FreeText annotations.

When adding text using complex scripts, the font used for the text must either

• be a TrueType font already embedded in the PDF document (the Subtype must be TrueType or Type0 with a CIDFontType2 descendant) or
• be embedded (completely or with subsetting) from a file.
