Introduction
Install Kofax VRS 5.3.0 Fix Pack 2 to resolve the issue listed below.
Note: To install Kofax VRS 5.3.0 Fix Pack 2 successfully, an existing full installation of Kofax VRS 5.3.0 is required.

Apply this fix pack to update any of the following versions:
- Kofax VRS 5.3.0.1
- Kofax VRS 5.3.0
Install this fix pack
For best results, install the fix pack during off-peak processing hours. Then use one of the following methods to install the fix pack.
Interactive
- Close all interactive applications that are using Kofax VRS, including Microsoft Office Apps (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word), Windows File Explorer and stop all Kofax Capture services.
They will not be restarted after you install the fix pack. - Extract the contents of KofaxVRS-5.3.0.2.zip on the computer where Kofax VRS is installed.
- To install the fix pack, double-click KofaxVRS-5.3.0.2.exe.
- When prompted that the installation is finished, click Finish.
- Restart any applications or services that were stopped prior to installing the fix pack.
Silent
- Close all interactive applications that are using Kofax VRS, including Microsoft Office Apps (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word), Windows File Explorer and stop all Kofax Capture services.
They will not be restarted after you install the fix pack. - Extract the contents of KofaxVRS-5.3.0.2.zip on the computer where Kofax VRS is installed.
- Open a Command Prompt window with administrator rights and change the working folder to the folder with the extracted contents of the KofaxVRS-5.3.0.2.zip file.
- Run the following command:
KofaxVRS-5.3.0.2.exe /s /v"/qn"
- Restart any applications or services that were stopped prior to installing the fix pack.
Remove this fix pack
For best results, remove the fix pack during off-peak processing hours. Then use one of the following methods to remove the fix pack.
Interactive
- Close all interactive applications that are using Kofax VRS, including Microsoft Office Apps (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word), Windows File Explorer and stop all Kofax Capture services.
They will not be restarted after you uninstall the fix pack. - In Control Panel, select Programs and Features > View installed updates.
- On the list of updates, in the Name column, select the item that corresponds to Kofax VRS 5.3.0.2.
- Right-click and select Uninstall.
- Restart any applications or services that were stopped prior to removing the fix pack.
Silent
- Close all interactive applications that are using Kofax VRS, including Microsoft Office Apps (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word), Windows File Explorer and stop all Kofax Capture services.
They will not be restarted after you uninstall the fix pack. - Open a Command Prompt window with administrator rights.
- Run the following command:
msiexec.exe /I{2E5BEB4D-38AB-4328-89B9-C6A95DCC184A} MSIPATCHREMOVE={43FFF51B-D2BE-43DB-BE0A-B5233FB69DD5} /qn
- Restart any applications or services that were stopped prior to removing the fix pack.
