Notes

Click the Note tool at Comment > Annotate. Click the note location and enter your comment. The author name will be automatically inserted in the caption of the note.

You can reply to notes and work with them.

Click the Comments tool on the left of the View bar to display the Comments panel. Select a note, click the Reply button and enter your text. When you receive a file with notes you need to revise, use the Set Status button to accept, reject it and more. For details, see the Comments panel topic.

If the notes in a document are selected to be flattened, an icon will show the location of the note, but the note text will no longer be available. Notes can be totally removed by Document Inspection if the category Comments is selected.

Dictating notes

Notes can be added by dictation using Nuance Dragon Notes, if your computer is enabled for sound and you have an internet connection. Use your microphone to transmit dictation to the Dragon Notes server in the Cloud and receive back the written note into your PDF file. No setup or registration is required.

For microphone requirements, visit: http://support.nuance.com/compatibility.

To dictate a note

  1. Click the Dragon Notes tool at Comments> Comment Processing and follow the invitation to place a note. Alternatively, create a note and then click the Dragon Notes tool.
  2. A message box tells you to start dictating.
  3. Click the Drag Notes tool again to signal the end of the note or have it automatically detected.

Go to File > Options > Speech > Dragon Notes to set the dictation language and enable or disable auto-detection of dictation endings. Auto-detection works best in a quiet dictation environment.
