The process of separating individual documents from a series of input pages showing where one multi-page document ends and the next one begins. It can be performed automatically or manually: If the automatic separation performed in the Classification activity is not entirely successful, then manual separation is necessary in Inspection.
Document separation is not necessary if the document is already differentiated when it enters the system (Microsoft Word documents, for example).
