A learning document is a copy of a document that you use for learning in the Optimize module. These copies are normally saved in the database and are not saved as TIFF files.
Every document definition must have one or more learning documents connected to it.
You set the maximum number of learning documents for each document definition in the settings. You can also choose if you want learning documents only for unidentified documents or for all documents.
A learning document is created by Verify in these situations:
Every time there is a document that has the status Unidentified.
When you assign an unidentified document to an existing sender, if the maximum number is not reached.
When you approve a document, if the document profile setting All documents is selected, and if the maximum number is not reached.
By the Verify operator, for any desired document.
A learning document is created by Optimize when you use Optimize to learn a document definition that does not already have a learning document connected to it.
Learning documents are deleted when you delete the document definition they are connected to.
If you have a document definition with more than one learning document, you can delete all but one of them, by right-clicking and selecting Delete learning document in the Learning documents dialog (Optimize > View > Learning documents ).
You can also delete learning documents using a maintenance plan.
You use them in Optimize:
To manually learn identifiers and fields in a document definition that were not learned by Interpret.
To apply filters to fields, to be used when processing documents.
To relearn identifiers or fields in a document definition in order to improve the interpretation rate.
You can list and display the learning documents for a document definition using Optimize and using Manager.
