Assigning rights

Use this procedure to assign rights for Active Directory users or user groups:

  1. Using the XBOUND Management Center, open a console containing the Process Designer.

  2. Right-click the object (Closedmore information about the objects), and select Security.

You can assign rights to users and groups for these objects:

    • Clients – Users and groups can read, write, or delete them.

    • Processes – Users and groups can read, write, or delete them.

    • Process steps – Users and groups can get documents for processing.

    • Documents and subordinate objects – Users and groups can read, write, or delete documents and their subordinate objects (such as fields and media). The rights are assigned via the document type.

Note that the rights for existing documents are not changed. The document rights that you adjust for the document type apply to new documents. If you change the document type of an existing document, however, the rights are adopted from the new document type.

  3. Adjust the rights for the desired users or groups and click OK.

Note: The rights of documents and their downstream objects (fields, media, etc.) are changed by adjusting the rights of the document type. This does not affect the rights of existing documents but only new ones that are created after you change the settings. However, if you change the document type of an existing document, it takes on the rights specified in the new document type.
