Using Help

The easiest way to open XBOUND Help is to select Help on the menu or press F1 on your keyboard. You can do this at any time when you are using the program. The help topic describes the specific dialog you are viewing and its settings.

Getting around in XBOUND Help

Tabs and buttons

Contents

Use the contents to browse for information by selecting a topic.

Index

Use the index to locate information using an alphabetical listing of key words.

Tip: Look for a word that describes either the action you want to take (for example adding, saving, or deleting) or the object of an action (for example images, tasks, or databases).

Search

Search for all topics that contain the word(s) you type.

Tips

  • Use quotation marks around a phrase to find topics that contain that exact phrase (for example, "use quotation marks around a phrase").

  • Deselect Match similar words in the lower left corner of the Search pane to get more exact hits.

Glossary

Click the Glossary button to view a list of terms and concepts.

Typographical conventions

This formatting is used to set apart different types of information:

Bold

Names of dialogs, tabs, buttons, options, and anything else found in a dialog.

Names of commands (menu items).

Courier New

Names of files and folders.

Italics

Statuses.

Titles of documents or help files.

Emphasis.

Underlining

Links to other topics, websites, and email addresses.
