The Newspaper Association of America (NAA) and the International Press Telecommunications Council (IPTC) have worked jointly to design a model to store all sorts of data in an image. This metadata is commonly known as IPTC. Adobe Photoshop uses IPTC to store information in images as well as much of the newspaper and press industry. DotImage can read and write IPTC information to a JPEG image and read IPTC information from a TIFF image.
IPTC data can be modified and saved back in a JPEG or TIFF image.
For more information on IPTC and Metadata in general see %iptc.html% and %metadataoverview.html%.
