Document Routing tab

Use this tab to specify options for routing documents or a parent folder to a Content Manager process.

Enable Routing

Select this option to route exported documents or a parent folder to Content Manager processes.

  • When selected, all other options on this tab become available, as you select the desired Content Manager processes.

  • When not selected, all other options on this tab are unavailable.

Items to Route

Use these options to specify whether to route only your exported documents or to route the parent folder for the current document.

Route documents only

Select this option to route documents only. Each exported document is started on the selected processes, with the specified priority.

Documents are started on the process only once. The owner of the process is set to the user who is logged in to the export connector at export time.

Route parent folder for the current document

Select this option to route the parent folder for an exported document. The parent folder is started on the selected processes, with the specified priority.

Folders are started on the process only once. The owner of the process is set to the user who is logged in to the export connector at export time.

If a folder is already started on the selected process, and the folder is still in the first step within the process, the document is stored in the folder. However, the folder is not started again on the process. This approach prevents a folder from being routed multiple times on the same process.

If the folder is no longer in the first step within the process, the document is not stored in the folder, and it is rejected at export time.

  • With Tungsten Capture, the export fails and the batch is routed to the Tungsten Capture Quality Control queue. When the folder has completed its routing, you can unreject the batch and try to export it again.

  • With Tungsten TotalAgility, the export fails and you can view the errors in the Variables section of the Job Details.

  • With Tungsten Express, the export fails and the batch only appears in the Batches if the Delete batch after export option is not selected in the export settings. If this option is enabled, the job will be deleted after release.

Process Settings

Use these options to specify a process and priority for your exported documents or parent folder.

Refer to the documentation that came with your IBM Content Manager product for details about Content Manager processes and priorities.

Start items on the following processes

Select this option to define the desired static process for your exported documents or parent folder. Then, select the desired priority for the process. This is the default option.

Process / Priority

Use this text box to dynamically assign one or more processes. Click the context menu button to display a menu of options for linking a Tungsten Value to represent the desired process. At export time, the specified Tungsten Value is dynamically assigned to your exported documents or parent folder. Note that:

  • The process name is case-sensitive and must match the existing process name in the IBM Content Manager library server. You must use the process name when dynamically assigning a process.

  • If you are using multiple processes, you must use a delimiter to separate the values. The multi-value separator is specified on the General Settings tab.

  • If you are using text constants to assign a Tungsten Value to processes and priorities, the number of values entered for the processes must be equal to the number of values entered for the priorities. On the other hand, if you are using a text constant for a Tungsten Value for the processes and you have entered only one priority value, that value is used for all the specified processes.

  • The process name cannot exceed 32 characters.

Priority for the highlighted process

Use this entry to dynamically assign a priority for the process selected above. You can use Tungsten Values to specify the priority. To do so, click the context menu button to display a menu of options for assigning a priority. At export time, the specified Tungsten Value is dynamically selected. Note that:

  • A priority must be a zero or a positive whole numeric value.

  • If the priority has an empty string or the value is greater than 2,147,483,647, then the export fails.

    • With Tungsten Capture, the export fails and the batch is routed to the Tungsten Capture Quality Control queue.

  • When using multiple priorities, you must use a delimiter to separate the values.

Start on process(es) dynamically selected at export

Select this option to dynamically define one or more processes for your released documents or parent folder.

Processes

Priorities

Use this text box to dynamically assign a priority for the preceding process.

  • If you are using multiple priorities, you must use a delimiter to separate the values. The multi-value separator is specified on the General Settings tab.

  • If you are using text constants to assign a Tungsten Value to processes and priorities, the number of values entered for the processes must be equal to the number of values entered for the priorities. When using a text constant for a Tungsten Value for the processes and you have entered only one priority value, that value is used for all the specified processes.
