Default recognition profiles

When a project is created, several recognition profiles that are specialized for a specific scenario are created automatically.

Important If any recognition profiles in your list use the deprecated RecoStar recognition engine, you cannot use these profiles with the default Kofax TotalAgility installation. A compatible OmniPage profile is used instead.
Important The FineReader recognition engine will be deprecated in the next release of Kofax TotalAgility. As a result, Kofax recommends that you use the OmniPage recognition profile for both page and zone recognition for all new projects. If you have existing projects that use one or more FineReader profiles, it is also recommended that you modify those projects to use a comparable OmniPage profile.

The default profiles are as follows:

A default profile for each of the page, zone, and OMR profiles is marked with the default Default Recognition Engine symbol. These default profiles are used automatically when adding a new profile using the respective profile type. You can modify the default settings after adding the new profile.

Each of the default profiles is configured for a specific purpose. For example, the default zone recognition profile uses the OmniPage recognition engine and is optimized for hand written alphanumeric characters. In addition to this profile, other non-default profiles include an OmniPage zone profile optimized for hand written numbers and an OMR zone profile optimized for automatic detection of multiple mark selections.
