You can use this window to set the properties for FineReader full text OCR profile.

The Languages group enables you to select one or more languages. You can combine any languages. Only the English language is selected by default.

The General Settings group has the following options:

Correct skew

Select this option if you want the OCR engine can automatically correct an image if it is skewed within a rotation of +/- 5 degrees.

Remove noise

Select this option to remove noise from the image.

Remove background

Select this option to remove background objects and shading from the image.

Word separation characters

Use this field to define the characters that may separate words. For example, a hyphen (-).

The Printer Type group helps improve recognition results by selecting which print type is expected. Choose from Normal, Typewriter, Matrix, and Handprint. If the Handprint type is selected, the following option is available:

Writing Style

If the Handprint type is selected, select which language the hand written text uses. This option is set to Default by default.

Note This writing style selection applies only to handwritten characters. All the other character types make use of the language selected in the Languages list.
