This topic lists new features and enhancements introduced to the product in Kofax PSIcapture 7.9.0.

Product rebranding

The user interface and documentation are fully rebranded to reflect the current product name, Kofax PSIcapture. Earlier versions of PSIcapture were released prior to the acquisition of PSIGEN Software, Inc. by Kofax.

Please note the following changes related to rebranding:

  • PSIcapture Fusion: Renamed to Kofax PSIcapture Mailroom

  • PSIcapture Fusion Direct Migration: Renamed to Kofax PSIcapture Mailroom Direct

  • PSIcapture Fusion Migration: Renamed to Kofax PSIcapture Mailroom (Legacy)

  • PSIGEN Affinity Direct Migration: Renamed to Kofax PSIsafe Direct (Affinity)

  • PSIsafe Direct Migration: Renamed to Kofax PSIsafe Direct (Legacy)

Kofax OmniPage OCR engine replaces OpenText RecoStar

In PSIcapture 7.9.0, the Kofax OmniPage OCR engine replaces the OpenText RecoStar engine, which is now deprecated. For information about how RecoStar OCR settings are mapped to OmniPage settings during an upgrade, see Appendix A in the Kofax PSIcapture Installation Guide.

If you anticipate a need to continue using the RecoStar engine for a period of time after upgrading to PSIcapture 7.9.0, contact Kofax Technical Support for assistance.

Xero migration support

PSIcapture configuration options are extended to support connection and migration to Xero applications. For details, see the Kofax PSIcapture Administrator Help.

M-Files migration supports connection via gRPC protocol

The Kofax PSIcapture migration for M-Files is extended to support the option to connect via the gRPC protocol.
