Imposition is the preparation of a PDF document for DTP-style printing.
In Power PDF, select File > Print, choose Kofax PDF as the printer and click Imposition in the bottom left of the Print dialog box.
This calls the Imposition dialog box which offers three tabs:
Layout: Determines the page arrangement and layout on printing sheets, the printing order and binding method.
Media: Determines the print sheet size, scaling and margins.
Options: Defines crop marks (cutting), registration (alignment) and double-sided printing choices.
Imposition settings can be saved for re-use.
To import imposition settings for the active PDF document
Open the Imposition dialog box as described above.
Click Load Settings to open the Load Settings selection box.
Choose an Imposition Data (. ini) file and click Open.
Use imported settings or edit them as for a new Imposition file.
To create a new Imposition file for the active PDF document
Open the Imposition dialog box as described above..
Make the necessary settings in the Layout, Media, and Options tabs. See also Sample Layouts.
Click OK to view the resulting Imposition file. The Imposition dialog box stores all settings from the last session so you can check the output and refine it step by step without the need to save intermediate sets of options.
To return to the settings of the previous imposition session, click Cancel. Modifications made in the current session are lost and you leave the Imposition function.
Imposition files are generated as temporary files named „New Imposition_#” where # is an auto-incrementing integer which is reset to 0 whenever you launch the program.
To export current imposition settings
In the Imposition dialog box, click Save Settings to open the Save Settings navigation box.
Specify the file name and path and click Save.
Note
In an Imposition file created from a PDF document, comments are ignored.
