Security Settings
The title and content of this dialog box vary depending on how you start it. Do any of the following to open the dialog box:
- Click Security > IDs and Certificates > Manage Digital Identities or Security > IDs and Certificates > Trusted Identities on the ribbon. The dialog box is titled as Security Settings and offers digital identities, directory servers, and time stamp servers.
- Click More under Identities on the Signatures page of the File > Options dialog box. The dialog box is titled as Digital IDs and Trusted Certificates and offers digital identities only.
The navigation tree on the left is minimized, with Digital IDs selected. On the right, the names, issuers, expiry dates and sources of available Digital IDs are listed.
Click Add ID to browse for an existing Digital ID or to create a Self-Signed Digital ID.
Click Remove ID to exclude the selected ID from the list, if it is not currently in use. Confirm removal by clicking OK.
Click Export Certificate to save it to a file or to send it to one or several specified addresses by e-mail.
Click Certificate Details to view the settings for the selected ID.
Click Refresh to update the list to include IDs from other sources, if any.
Expand the Digital IDs navigation tree on the left to separately show both types of sources and do one of the following:
Select Windows Digital IDs to display those IDs on the right. Select one to perform actions as indicated above.
Select Digital ID Files to display those IDs on the right. Select one to perform following actions on it:
Toggle between Logout or Login. When logging in, you are requested to enter the password.
Click Change Password, enter the old password you want to modify and the new one, with confirmation.
Click Password Timeout and specify whether a password is needed for signing. If so, is it needed every time you sign a document, or will it not be needed again within a specified period of time.
Click Add File to browse for an existing Digital ID file. Click Open to include it in the Digital ID Files list.
Click Detach File to remove the selected Digital ID file from the list.
On the left, select Directory Servers to access an LDAP server, or select Time Stamp Servers to manage sources for time stamps. See Time Stamping a Digital Signature.
Note: The Directory Servers and Time Stamp Server nodes are available only if you start the dialog box from the Security ribbon.
On the left, select the Trusted Certificates node to manage trusted identities and the list of EUTL certificates.
