Create database

This topic explains you how to create or update the ReadSoft Collector database using Windows authentication or Azure SQL database.

  1. Under Database server, enter the database server address.
  2. Under Database name, enter the database name.
  3. Select Use Windows authentication \ integrated security to enable Windows Authentication. Once enabled, use your Windows password to connect to the database server and proceed to step 5.
  4. If you want to use Azure database, select Use Azure SQL DB.

    In the Use Azure SQL DB list, select either of the following:

    • Azure SQL Database
    • Azure SQL Managed Instance

    In Azure SQL Database, you can only use an existing database. In Azure SQL Managed Instance, you can add a new database to an existing one. Select as appropriate.

  5. Enter your user name and password.
  6. Select either of the following.
    • Create database: For Windows authentication\integrated security and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
    • Upgrade database: For Azure SQL database and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
