Clearing log file information

Note: This logging information applies to only Capture Components Administration. For more information on logging in XBOUND (including the ReadSoft Capture Components activities), see XBOUND Help.

When Capture Components Administration is set up to store logs in the file system, it is a good idea to regularly purge old log files. The system can be set up to purge log files automatically when the Administration module starts:

  1. On the Configuration tab, expand System specifications and click Global policies.

  2. In the right pane, double-click Logging and select Purging.

  3. Select Delete old log file data when the program starts.

  4. To delete files older than a specific number of days or months:

    • Select Delete files older than.

    • Type a number in the left box.

    • Click the up or down arrow to select Days or Months.

  5. To delete files larger than a specific size:

    • Select Delete files larger than.

    • Type a number in the left box.

    • Click the up or down arrow to select kB or MB.

Note: Logs are often stored in different folders for different users. For example, there may be a dedicated service user who has his own log folder.
