Importing business logic

You can use the procedure described below to import the following from a previously saved export file:

All conditions and related data such as assemblies, classes, methods, arguments are included.

However, note that those assemblies etc. must already be registered in the system. If they are not, import aborts.

Use this procedure

  1. Using the XBOUND Management Center, open a console containing the Validation Designer. (For information about working with consoles, see XBOUND Help.)
  2. Under Process Navigation, select a process.
  3. Click the Check out button ().

  4. Select File > Import > Business logic.

  5. You are prompted to select the file that contains the business logic to import. (This is an XML file with the extension OBX that was previously exported from XBOUND.)

  6. The Import business logic dialog is displayed. Select the business rule groups or the document types for which business logic is to be imported.

In the Filter box at the top of the dialog you can type part of the name of a business rule group or document type to filter the list.

  7. Click OK.

What happens during import

If one or more of the selected document types already have business rules assigned to them, those business rules will be replaced with the ones you are importing. In such cases you are prompted to confirm. (Click Details in the message dialog for exact information.) If you click No, import is aborted.

If one or more of the document types or their field definitions do not exist, they are added during import.

The original connections between business rule groups and process steps are not automatically recreated.
