Updating a business rule library

Use this procedure to update a business rule library. This is needed if you receive updated business rules in the form of a new DLL file, for example.

  1. Using the XBOUND Management Center, open a console containing the Validation Designer. (For information about working with consoles, see XBOUND Help.)
  2. Select File > Libraries.

    Note: Libraries is disabled if a process is checked out. Any process that is checked out must first be checked in.

  3. In the Business rule libraries dialog, select the business library and then click the button.

  4. Click the button and specify the path to the updated business rule library DLL. All business rule templates included in this library and which have already been imported are listed.

  5. When you click OK, you are asked if you want to update the business rules of the existing DLL. Click OK to confirm.

    If the new DLL does not contain all business rules that the existing DLL does, business rule templates that are not included in the new DLL are deleted by this function, if they are no longer in use.

    If a business rule has a different signature, it is not possible to update the rule if it is being used.
